Use a square image
All platforms crop your photo to a square or circle. Start with a square so nothing important gets cut off.
Keep your face centered
Most platforms apply a circular crop. Position your face in the middle of the frame so it stays fully visible.
Leave space around your head
Avoid filling the entire frame with your face. A small gap around the top and sides prevents the circular crop from clipping your hair or ears.
Avoid text near the edges
Text placed near the corners or edges will be hidden by circular crops. Keep any important details in the center third of the image.
